This has been a long, drawn-out winter and I am starting to get cabin fever from playing tennis week in, week out in a large, stuffy heated balloon. But luckily I live in Italy and I know that very soon we will have lots of warm, sunny days, and the clay court will quickly dry out, and I’ll soon be back to playing in the fresh air in my favourite summer tennis outfits.
It will soon be time to relegate those black leggings and black hoodies to the back of my activewear chest of drawers, and bring my colourful skirts, dresses and tops back to the forefront. I might even add some pastel pieces, as these feature heavily in the latest tennis fashion for spring/summer 2018. I particularly like the salmony orange colours introduced by adidas in their 2018 Roland Garros collection, and the Hawaiian feel of the latest Lucky in Love collection has me dreaming of long summer evenings (playing tennis and drinking Aperol Spritz!). Check out my spring/summer tennis fashion picks below and let me know what you think.

My first tennis skirt was from a brand called Lucky in Love that I discovered on Instagram. From the moment I put on that tennis skirt my passion for tennis fashion was born. I’ve spoken about this brand in other posts, and I even wrote an article for Tennis Identity on them, as I honestly think they are unique in the styles they offer. Since last summer I have now acquired a small wardrobe of Lucky in Love pieces and outfits, so last week I decided to do a video on my YouTube channel to showcase them. In case you missed it, you can find the video below. I plan to do more videos like this in the future, including footage of me wearing my tennis outfits while playing on the tennis court, so make sure you subscribe to my channel if you love tennis fashion as much as me!
The US Open 2016 has further confirmed that tennis is “having a fashion moment“. If you didn’t catch much of the tennis this summer, then take a look at Tennis Identity‘s blog post about the best of women’s tennis fashion at this year’s US Open. Despite the many great tennis outfits on show, in my opinion we saw way too many tennis players wearing Nike’s neon yellow offerings, and it must be pretty distracting to turn up to your match to find your opponent wearing exactly the same outfit (right down to the visor and sweat bands). In fact, once I had convinced myself that I could dress like a professional when playing tennis (see this blog post), I knew that at the same time I didn’t want to look exactly like the professionals. I wanted to wear tennis outfits that were unique, feminine and fashionable. And this is exactly what I found whilst browsing Instagram. Here are my top 5 unique tennis brands, all discovered on Instagram, that offer the best designs in female tennis attire.
